LISA MARTIN
Founder & President

Lisa founded Companion Pets in Crisis with the belief that no one should have to choose between their own safety and the well-being of their beloved pet.

 

With a background in emergency medical services and years of experience serving individuals experiencing crisis, she has dedicated her work to removing barriers that keep people and their pets from accessing shelter, housing, and essential resources.

As President Lisa provides strategic leadership, oversees organizational operations, develops community partnerships, leads fundraising and grant initiatives, and guides the organization's mission and long-term vision.

 

Under her leadership, CPiC has grown into a collaborative community resource focused on preserving the human-animal bond while supporting veterans, individuals experiencing homelessness, and families in crisis.

KAREN ANDERSON
Vice President

Karen serves as Vice President of Companion Pets in Crisis and supports the organization's strategic direction and governance. She works alongside the President to strengthen partnerships, assist with organizational planning, and help ensure CPiC continues to meet the needs of the community it serves.

Karen's passion for helping both people and animals reflects the mission of Companion Pets in Crisis, and she is committed to supporting sustainable growth while advancing programs that keep pets and their people together.

LAURA SUNDBERG
Secretary

Laura serves as Secretary for Companion Pets in Crisis and is responsible for maintaining the organization's corporate records, documenting board meetings, and supporting sound nonprofit governance.

Beyond her board responsibilities, Laura actively volunteers at outreach events and assists with programs that provide resources and support to pet owners experiencing homelessness and crisis. Her dedication and compassion help strengthen CPiC's mission throughout the community.

EARL SWEENEY
Treasurer

Earl serves as Treasurer for Companion Pets in Crisis and provides financial oversight to help ensure the organization's fiscal integrity and long-term sustainability.

 

He works with organizational leadership to monitor financial reporting, budgeting, and responsible stewardship of donor contributions.

Earl's commitment to transparency and accountability helps ensure that every donation is used effectively to support programs that keep pets healthy, families together, and barriers to shelter and housing reduced.

DR. BRANDON PRINCE, DVM
Medical Director, Street Paws Wellness Program

Dr. Brandon Prince serves as Medical Director for Companion Pets in Crisis' Street Paws Wellness Program.

 

He provides veterinary leadership and clinical guidance for the organization's outreach wellness services and supports the development of medical protocols that ensure high-quality care for pets served through CPiC's community programs.

Dr. Prince also serves as the supervising veterinarian for Companion Pets in Crisis' veterinary premises license, ensuring compliance with Arizona veterinary regulations and supporting the safe delivery of community-based veterinary wellness services. His leadership helps expand access to preventive veterinary care for pets whose owners face barriers to traditional veterinary services.

DR. ZUE WEBSTER ALVAREZ, DVM
Lead Veterinarian, Street Paws Wellness Program

Dr. Zue Webster Alvarez is the volunteer veterinarian leading Companion Pets in Crisis' Street Paws Wellness outreach clinics.

 

She donates her expertise to provide wellness examinations, vaccinations, preventive care, and medical guidance for pets belonging to veterans and individuals experiencing homelessness.

Her compassionate approach and commitment to community medicine play a vital role in helping remove barriers to shelter and housing by keeping pets healthy and ensuring they can remain safely with the people who love them.
